Day 3

Breakfast: 1/2 cup chopped nuts and seeds (almonds, pecans, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds) with a dash of shredded coconut, sauteed in raw milk butter, served with raw milk and a handful of frozen berries.

Lunch: trail mix (almonds, cashews, raisins) and hvarti cheese

Dinner: a small salad with 1/2 avocado, chopped pecans, scattering of dried cranberries, avocado oil and white wine vinegar dressing; ate an entire orange bell pepper, sliced; one energy ball (ingredients on Day 1)

Thoughts: feeling much better today relative to yesterday; for some reason the scales suggest I’ve dropped 2.5 lbs since Sunday which, of course, can’t be true; serves me right for weighing myself too frequently. Breakfast was great but even 1/2 cup is a bit much I think. Will try a bit less tomorrow. Cheese felt great on my stomach; must do more of that. No idea what to eat for dinner yet. Getting sick of meat but I think mostly it’s the way I cook it. I suck at it. I really need to work on my cooking skills. Today was like a taste of summer and that has motivated me. I really want to lose weight and feel good in my body this summer.

The Basics

My way of eating is based on a Paleo/Primal diet and is comprised mainly of saturated animal fat (grass-fed meat, pastured eggs, butter), nuts and seeds (almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, coconut, pumpkin seeds) and their oils (coconut oil, avocado oil) and lots of vegetables and fruit. I eat virtually no sugar (other than that contained naturally in fruit), potatoes or sweet potatoes, beans or legumes, and no grains or grain products.
